5 Overview of our trip Wednesday
Children to the Hall from 9.00am - bring bag/case with them (no parking in school) Medication to Mrs Lincoln/Mrs Dilley in Meetings Room Bring a packed lunch/snacks in a carrier bag Parentmail/phone tree when settled in Two afternoon activities Evening meal and evening activity Thursday 4 daytime activities 1 evening activity Friday 2 daytime activities Leave PGL approximately 1.30 pm after lunch Arrive back at St Andrews approx 3.30 pm

8 Accommodation and Groups
Dormitory arrangements We have our own dedicated area Usually girls and boys on different floors We will ask children for a friend to room with but cannot promise Rooms of 4 (en-suite) Teachers accommodation next door (on both floors) Bedding provided Activity groups St. Andrew’s mixed groups Groups predominantly based with children going to same Middle schools Groups stay together all week All groups together for meal, play and evenings

9 Caythorpe Court Accommodation
En suite rooms sleep 4 Not in tents! Bedding provided The Fens are purpose built wooden lodges with en suite rooms sleeping 4-6. The Vales comprise en suite rooms sleeping 4, 6 or 8 The Wolds comprise en suite rooms sleeping 4 - 8 Tents are spaciously sited and sleep on frame mattresses. Toilets and showers are close by.

11 Staying safe! (PGL slide)
The PGL Code of Practice describes all safety and operational procedures both on and off-site including: sample risk assessments staff to pupil ratios staff vetting and training equipment specifications site security medical cover emergency procedures All centres and activities are fully risk assessed every year The PGL Code of Practice details all the control measures put in place to minimise risk Sample risk assessments are available on line and specific assessments are available from PGL on request All our instructors are specifically trained for our programmes to ensure the delivery of safe and rewarding sessions across a wide range of activities The staff recruitment process is as follows: Detailed application form completed and submitted Vetted by a dedicated HQ recruitment officer Verification of all references, List 99 check and Criminal Records Bureau clearance obtained Successful applicants undergo a compulsory probationary period lasting a minimum of ten days Original qualification certificates checked Prior to the beginning of the operating season, instructors and group leaders who have not worked for PGL before attend a residential training course Job offer confirmed. On-going support, development training and assessment under the supervision of Senior Instructors. At every PGL centre you will find an experienced and professional Centre Manager who is in charge of Centre operations and has overall responsibility for the success of your course and the performance of our staff. Operating procedures conform to National Governing Body guidelines where these are relevant to the activity in question and the level being undertaken.

16 What you need to do now Return Consent Forms
Return Medical/Information forms (and make us aware of any changes) Read the Essential Information sheet Packing list - Long sleeved shirts are needed, children not allowed on certain activities without them A bag that the children can carry upstairs – under 15kg Other items are on that list through our experience of many trips!

17 Parentmail We will send an via Parentmail when the children have arrived. Please sign up if you haven’t already signed up. Will set up a Phone Tree for anyone who hasn’t signed up.

18 What to remember on the day
1 small suitcase/bag (under 15kg) Lunch/snacks for the first day Travel pills to be taken at home Bring any medicine to Mrs Lincoln/Mrs Dilley The normal school medication form to be completed (bring meds from home) Be there from 9.00am (no parking in school)

19 And finally…… A few bits and pieces
We will only phone if there is a problem Nothing of value (clothes or possessions) NO PHONES! £5 spending money (shop session requested) Girls to take lots of hair bands as hair has to be tied up No earrings please (or jewellery at all) Pack a lip salve – it’s very windy Long trousers, long sleeves and long socks Trainers needed for all activities No sweets or snacks please – we will take some things Please name EVERYTHING Any concerns, please come and see Mrs Lanning/Mrs Thomas Anything you think we should know Questions ?
