Women and the civil war Thousands of women in the North and South joined volunteer brigades and signed up to work as nurses. It was the first time in American history that women played a significant role in a war effort..More than 400 women dressed like men and joined the union or confederation side.

Confederate And Union Soldier
Both the union and confederate drafted anyone and everyone (that looked like men).The union soldiers didn’t do as good as the confederate soldiers they struggled though out the war many died by the first year. Well… many people died on both sides most of the confederates were experienced not much on the union side.

Where Did The Civil War Battles Happen?
The civil war mostly took in the south , but only 2 battles took place in the north. Some battles happened in the territory such as(Arizona , Colorado, Dakota, Indian, New Mexico and Washington territory)

What Stared The Civil War
The Civil War started over differences between the free and slave states. Over the power of the national government to allow slavery in the territories that had not yet decided.

What Happened After The Civil War
The end of the war in 1865 brought a welcome peace, especially for the men who served as soldiers. Armies were disbanded and regiments mustered out of service. Former soldiers returned to the farms and stores they had left so long ago, but the memories of their service and old comrades did not disappear quite so rapidly. In the decade following the end of the Civil War, organizations of veterans of the North and South were formed. Northern veterans joined the Grand Army of the Republic and Confederate veterans enrolled in the United Confederate Veterans. Many wrote books poems and songs after the war

Bombing Facts More than three million men fought in the civil war . about 900,000 for the Confederacy and 2.1 million for the Union. An estimated 300 women disguised themselves as men and fought in the ranks. More than 620,000 people, or two percent of the population, died in the Civil war Approximately 6,000 battles, skirmishes, and engagements were fought during the Civil war.
