Space and Missile Defense Working Group (SMDWG) Charter
Background The SMDWG is formed to respond to our civic responsibility to assist in the decision making process on issues pertaining to space and ballistic missile defense. Scope The Scope of the SMDWG is to Educate the general population and elected representation on space and ballistic missile defense. Membership Membership is open to all individuals in government, industry, and the community. SMDWG members must belong to the NDIA or an affiliate.

Mr. David K. Cox Mr. Cox, a member of the Army Acquisition Corps, is dual slotted as acting Deputy Director, TRADOC Capability Manager Global Ballistic Missile Defense (TCM GBMD) managing integration of DOTmLPF for both the 100th Missile Defense Brigade’s Ground Based Midcourse Defense and Forward Based Mode radar systems while also serving as Chief of the GBMD Prototyping and Experimentation Group at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.

Mr. David K. Cox He leads the development, of joint air and missile defense battle management, C4I initiatives to support rapid prototyping, experimentation and acquisition of immediate warfighter capabilities. Supported by a diverse team of professionals organized into multiple integrated government and industry product teams working together to integrate and sustain innovative C4I prototype solutions for complex C2, sensor and data-link integration challenges.

Mr. David K. Cox Responsible to coordinate command systems engineering support for Homeland Integrated Air and Missile Defense activities. Mr. Cox brings to his position more than thirty years of military operations background as a career Army officer. He enlisted in 1976 and retired in 2008 as a Colonel serving as Deputy Director of the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Future Warfare Center.
