1. Welcome to First Grade

2. Reading
We use Harcourt reading to teach reading. We will be using Core5 to meet all students levels. We work with students in small groups to give them individual attention. We use the Daily 5 cafe model.

3. Writing
We will work on the writing process. First grade students will use the writing process. Brainstorm,rough draft, edit, and final copy. We will write letters, personal narratives, non- fiction and just for fun.

5. Math
We are teaching math with envisions math program. This program uses online resources, and traditional paper and pencil. We will also be using Dreambox.

7. Science
We will be wondering and discovering about motion, and life sciences through the study of animals and plants.

8. Art
We will explore the art of famous artists. We will work to create art using color, texture, lines, and design. We will use different materials such as, oil pastels, crayons, markers, watercolor, and paint.

9. Social Studies
We will study groups, and how we get along in groups. We will also learn what a community is. We spend time studying maps and learning about the states. We also learn about social thinking.
