7 SAT DEADLINES Log in to your Collegeboard account to register and send your scores. Do not create a new account if you cannot remember your login credentials. Use the links to reset or contact CollegeBoard for assistance. Scores are only considered official if sent directly from the CollegeBoard. Turn around time for sending scores can take up to five weeks!

8 ACT DEADLINES Log in to your ACT account to register and send your scores. Do not create a new account if you cannot remember your login credentials. Use the links to reset or contact ACT for assistance. Scores are only considered official if sent directly from the ACT. Sending scores can take longer than you think and hold up the admission process, so don’t wait!

9 RECOMMENDATION LETTER DEADLINES
Ask teachers at least 3-4 weeks before your deadline! Recommendation Request Form submitted to both teachers. Always waive your right to review the recommendation. Keep in mind recommendations should be requested from academic teachers (i.e. if you are applying for a science major, you should request recommendations from science teachers; if you are going to be an art major, you can ask your art teacher). Write a thank you letter to your recommenders; keep in mind they are doing this on their free time. Teachers will be recommending through Naviance; make sure accurate s are entered in Naviance so your recommender is able to submit.

Finding the best fit college for you entails your insight! Visit colleges Speak to as many college representatives as possible Ask questions Be involved Know what your preferences are regarding size, location, activities, majors, etc. BE PROFESSIONAL! When you show interest in a college, their admissions office is notified and this slightly increases your chance of admissions- get on their mailing lists! (Remember Demonstrated Interest?!)

13 TASK LIST —Sign up to retake ACT/SAT exams in the fall.
—Ask two academic teachers to write letters of recommendation. —Complete activity sheet/ resume and turn a copy in to the School Counseling Office. Update all data in your Naviance profile. Create a professional just for college applications. Continue to visit colleges, attend college fairs, and register to meet with admissions reps who visit through Naviance. —Student athletes planning on playing NCAA college athletics, register with NCAA Clearinghouse —Work on college essays. Plan to have all applications complete by December 1st and turn in SDRs to your counselor. Meet with your counselor as often as you need!
