We are among those sheep.
“Feed My Sheep” Our Goal peter, who openly and crassly denied the Lord (even with cursing) saying, “ ‘I do not know the Man’ ” (Matt. 26:74, NKJV), is the one to whom Jesus later said, “Feed my sheep” (John 21:17). We are among those sheep. Let’s get fed. Tayo’y kumain.

Pagdurusa Para kay Cristo

Suffering for Christ Key Text 1 Peter 2:21 NKJV “for to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps.” Susing Talata.

By any reckoning, then, the
Suffering for Christ Initial Words within the short epistle, there are no fewer than three extended passages that deal with his readers’ suffering for Christ (1 Pet. 2:18–25, 3:13–21, 4:12–19). By any reckoning, then, the suffering caused by persecution is a major theme of 1 Peter, and to that we turn. Panimulang Salita.

Suffering for Christ 1. Suffering and Christ’s Example 1 Peter 3:18; 4:1 NKJV “for christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit. Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind....” 1. (1 Pedro 3:18; 4:1).

1. Suffering and Christ’s Example
Brought About Salvation christians should make sure that they do not provide others with a reason to accuse them. They must keep their consciences clear (1 Pet. 3:16). Those who accuse a Christian will be put to shame by the blameless life of the Christian who is being accused.
12
There is no merit in suffering
1. Suffering and Christ’s Example Brought About Salvation There is no merit in suffering for being a wrongdoer. It is suffering for doing good, for doing the right thing, that makes the crucial difference. “For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil” (1 Pet. 3:17, NKJV).
13
But His suffering also brought about the only means of salvation.
1. Suffering and Christ’s Example Brought About Salvation Christ suffered for His righteousness; the holiness and purity of His life stood as a rebuke to those who hated Him. But His suffering also brought about the only means of salvation. He died in the place of sinners (“the just for the unjust,” 1 Pet. 3:18), so that those who believe in Him will have the promise of eternal life.
14
Jesus: “ ‘You will be hated...for My name’s sake’ ” (Matt. 24:9).
1. Suffering and Christ’s Example The Fiery Trial To suffer persecution for being a Christian is to partake of Christ’s suffering. Paul: “Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution” (2 Tim. 3:12, NKJV). Jesus: “ ‘You will be hated...for My name’s sake’ ” (Matt. 24:9). “Persecution...await all who are imbued with the Spirit of Christ.” —The Acts of the Apostles 576.

Yes, persecution is bad, but press on ahead in faith.
1. Suffering and Christ’s Example The Fiery Trial For a faithful Christian, persecution can be an ever-present reality, the “fiery trial” they were facing. Fire can be destructive, but it also can clean away impurities; silver and gold are purified by it. God can bring good out of it. Yes, persecution is bad, but press on ahead in faith.

commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator.”
Suffering for Christ 2. Suffering and God’s Judgment 1 Peter 4:17-19 NKJV “for the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? ... Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator.” 2.
17
2. Suffering and God’s Judgment
Judgment and the People of God the process of judgment is portrayed as starting with the people of God. The sufferings that his Christian readers are experiencing might be nothing less than the judgment of God. “Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator” (1 Pet. 4:19).
18
Judgment and the People of God
Luke 18:2-5 NKJV “There was...a judge who did not fear God nor regard man. Now there was a widow...and she came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’ And he would not for a while; but afterward he said..., ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man, yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’ ” Lucas 18:2-5. ”
19
2. Suffering and God’s Judgment
Judgment and the People of God The widow knows that she will prevail in her case if she can find a judge who will take her case. She has insufficient money and status to get her case heard, but she finally persuades the judge to hear it and to give her what she deserves. “ ‘And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him?’ ” (Luke 18:7, NKJV). ” (Lucas 18:7).
20
2. Suffering and God’s Judgment
Judgment and the People of God Sin has brought evil into the world, and God’s people throughout the ages have long waited for God to make things right again. “ ‘Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy. For all nations shall come and worship before You, for Your judgments have been manifested’ ” (Rev. 15:4, NKJV).
21
Suffering for Christ 3. Suffering and the Great Controversy 1 Peter 5:8, 9 NKJV “be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experience by your brother hood in the world.” 3. Ang Pagdurusa’t ang Malaking Tunggalian. “Magpakatino kayo, magbantay kayo.
22
3. Suffering and the Great Controversy
Faith Amid Trials why the suffering? Job, one of the first books of the Bible to be written, has suffering as a key theme. If there was anyone (besides Jesus) who suffered not as “a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as a busybody in other people’s matters” (1 Pet. 4:15), it was Job. After all, even God said of Job: “ ‘Have you considered My servant Job, Pananampalata sa Gitna ng mga Pagsubok. Bakit may pagdurusa?
23
3. Suffering and the Great Controversy
Faith Amid Trials that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?’ ” (Job 1:8, NKJV). And yet, look at what poor Job had endured, not because he was evil but because he was good! The answer is that we suffer because we are in the midst of the great controversy between Christ and Satan.

had asked, again and again: Why?
3. Suffering and the Great Controversy Faith Amid Trials When we suffer, especially when that suffering does not come directly as a result of our own evildoing, we naturally ask the question that Job had asked, again and again: Why? And, we don’t have an answer. All we can do is to commit our souls to God, trusting in Him, our “faithful Creator,” and continue in “doing good” (1 Pet. 4:19). ¶ At, wala tayong sagot.
25
Suffering for Christ Final Words “those who honor the law of God have been accused of bringing judgments upon the world, and they will be regarded as the cause of the fearful convulsions of nature and the strife and bloodshed among men that are filling the earth with woe. ... Satan will excite to still greater intensity the spirit of hatred and persecution.”—The Great Controversy 614, 615. Huling Pananalita. —The Great Controversy 614, 615.
