Increase UVI student SAILS scores by 5% in specific competency areas by integrating information literacy into 5 new courses beyond freshman general education

8. Project Background The project has the following goal and hypothesis:
GOAL: To improve University of the Virgin Islands student learning outcomes.
The hypothesis, based on anecdotal reports is that freshman students entering UVI do not have adequate IL skills for higher education instruction.

Data collected established a benchmark of performance among incoming UVI students

On the St. Thomas campus, where students fared worse than their St. Croix counterparts, the change was over a 10% increase.
On St. Croix, the improvements were more varied.

With more applications being used, storing and sending more and more data across the network, a fast and reliable network is essential to normal operations.

Leverage the student success initiative (SSI) towards the development of a UVI data warehouse.
