Many people have determined to do the right thing. As a result we make have made New Years resolutions. Some of our quest some are successful and other end total and abject failure.
In either case the real question that must be asked is were all your efforts towards doing the right thing or were they in vain?
I don’t know about you but I do not want to spend my life working toward something that I’m not sure that I’m supposed to be doing it. In other words I don’t want to go through the sometimes Hell down here and wind up going to hell.

2. Without purpose our vision:
Do you have to know you are doing the right thing ? The answer is no. The 4 Lepers at the gate

Distractions ,Deception, Disappointment
To do the right thing with purpose you must know what the right thing is.
Why is the Principle so important ?
God’s word instructs to : with all our getting to get understanding ( this is a principle)
How do we access this understanding ?
As a gift from God Eph 4:8
by hearing and reading His word through the Spirit of God. Rom 10:17
by Studying His word II Tim 2:15
by His Spirit impartation Eph 3:19, 1 Cor 12:8
By Hi s mind I Cor 2:16For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
That being said God wants us to understand that it is by his spirit that we come to him and through his spirit that we grow . So then we must acknowledge that we have the spirit of God and with his spirit come the mind of Christ.
We are to seek to understand the mind of Christ, to operate in the mind of Christ daily. This is the process by which we Grow up and mature in the Lord .
Hebrew 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
Everything thing that pertains to life and godliness has been given unto us ..

3. Knowing God Intimately
It requires us to spend more time with Him
Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth. Proverbs 7:24
The word Hearken is another word for attend or to give one’s attention to someone or something.
Our attention is a limited resource and what do with it must be prioritized!
God prefers that you give Him your attention rather than Him getting your attention!

5. Walk Closer
The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Psalm 37:23
1. Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. Psalms 1:1-2

6. Serving God Intentionally
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Colossian 3:23
We serve to Lord because of our salvation, not to receive salvation.
James expresses this truth like this : But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? James 2:20
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. James 2:26
The Holy Spirit is the Principle Member of the God Head working on the Earth
Zachariah 4:6
The Promise
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: Joel 2:28
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. Rom12: 1-3
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Gal 2:16
The REST OF THE LORD
9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. 12For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
We can’t do this ourselves! We need help to know how not to operate in the flesh, that is to think that we do the work rather than God in us doing the works.
