6. Why It Came a National Park
It was made a national park when the senate and house of representatives of united states of America that the land known as the Carlsbad caverns national monument, in the state of New Mexico, established and chosen under the act of June 8,1906, entitled “An act for the preservation of American antiquities,” and presidential proclamation of October 25, 1923, be, and the same hereby declare to be a national park and dedicated as a public park for the benefit and enjoyment of the people under the name of the Carlsbad Caverns National Park.
