3. Scope of the Project
To identify and remove obsolete cables within the injector complex, until end of LS2.
First  priority:  Identification of obsolete cables in the  Booster and SPS BA5
 Partial / total removal must be decided by end September 15’
Triggered by LIU needs (room in cable containment)
Second priority: SPS (BA3)
Third  priority:  Identification of obsolete cables in the PS, TT2, LINACs

3000 obsolete cables to be removed (consolidation budget) before LS2
2800 used cables to be removed and replaced during LS2 for LIU (LIU budget)

Strong commitment from all the equipment groups during identification and disconnection stages  resources to be secured for YETS15-16

5. YETS activities @ Booster
YETS 2015/2016 = 7-8 weeks to complete:
Circuit lockout
Cable identification
Cable disconnection
System tests
Current proposal:
Circuit lockout: 1-2 days (depending on equipment group decision)
Cable identification and disconnection for separate systems . 2 weeks in 2 shifts
Check of separate systems: 2 weeks in 2 shifts
Cable identification and disconnection for communication system: 2 weeks in 2 shifts
Check communication system : 1-2 week in 2 shifts
Schedule being prepared

7. Identified issues: re-commissioning
Re-commissioning after disconnection/removal – Common procedure  a dedicated sub-WG has been launched
Will address the following topics:
List of tests to be achieved after disconnection
Procedure for already disconnected cable
Procedure for not yet disconnected cable
Procedure for orphan cable

8. Identified issues: Lock-out
Lock-out of all services during identification and cable disconnection in conflict with some systems
Identification and cable disconnection (YETS 2015) under the responsibility of the equipment group  Up to the equipment group to decide for the lock-out of its equipment
Removal of the obsolete cables (EYETS ) under the responsibility of EN-EL  general lock-out is mandatory.
