Fee Schedule Update J. Curran, ARIN President and CEO 23 April 2013
2
New ARIN Fee Schedule Aligns the ISP IPv4 and IPv6 fee schedules for ISPs into a single set of registration services plans based on total resources held Provides $100/year end-user maintenance fees per address block and ASN number Legacy resource holders under agreement fees same as end-user fees Fee schedule structure was presented at ARIN 30 in Dallas in October, followed by formal community consultation
3
New ARIN Fee Schedule (more)
Adopted by the ARIN Board in January 2013, effective 1 July 2013 Corrected typo in original schedules regarding xx-small category and IPv6 resources Implemented fee estimator tool in ARIN Online to allow users to calculate revised fees Note – Each organization ID (OrgID) receives one invoice covering all resources held Fee change is revenue neutral for ARIN; it provides for a long-term stable fee structure
4
Community Discussion While the original consultation had only modest community discussion, we have benefited from an abundance of discussion since that time… Suggestions for fee restructuring have included: Additional IPv6 fee waivers Fee structure based on organization revenue size Fee structure based on number of total resource records held Fee structure linear to total IP addresses held
5
Fee Structure Review Committee
The ARIN Board of Trustees has directed the Finance Committee to convene a Fee Structure Review committee which shall include selected volunteers from the community, will consider various long-term fee structures, and report back to ARIN Board prior to the ARIN 32 meeting (Volunteers needed – Please if interested)
