8 What have been the challenges?
Initial uncertainty - going into the unknown…….. Developing our shared vision – find our similarities Taking on new roles –Workforce advisor & RIPfa/RIP Link Officer roles Delay from central government - Forging ahead with the practical coordination of activities, whilst addressing bringing together thinking on vision, values and practice models. More a sprint than a marathon - capacity issues! Delay from central government - we had to charge ahead with practical coordination of activities and address the bringing together thinking on vision, values and practice models. More a sprint than a marathon so capacity issues. Not streamlined and integrated processes quickly enough both locally and as a partnership – practice education / endorsers and CPD Opportunities is an example. We are in quite different places around knowing our workforce and therefore this impacts on the work stream around having sufficient able social workers, supervisors and leaders

9 Successful working together is about relationship based practice:
“Relationship-based practice is founded on the idea that human relationships are of paramount importance and should be at the heart of all good social work practice” Gillian Ruch

10 Key Reflections… Build in contingency plans to planning so robust processes around matching Teaching Partnership Opportunities: have a data list of all our staff that covers this Improve processes around SPOC for communications, capacity to cover contingencies and absences We need to spend more time sharing our vision and approach to achieving a permanent secure capable well led workforce

11 Reflections on the role of the PSW
The differing view of the status & effectiveness of the PSW role within Children & Adult Social Work Q – for discussion Resilience – Continuous challenges; how do we keep our motivation, our vision, our determination, our creativity? In order to influence and support improvements in practice – leading to better outcomes for people we work with? The influence
