B- Classical = Ancient Greek and Roman world. C- Olympics = Religious festival and sports competition held every 4 years. D- Polis = A Greek City-State.

Terms to know E. Democracy- is a form of government in which the people elect leaders and rule by majority. F. Philosophy- terms from the Greeks, meaning “love of wisdom” G. Republic- Government by the people : citizens are ultimate source of government authority H. Senate- Members of the Senate were landowners who served for life
