2 What is input ? WHAT IS OUTPUT ?
Any data or instructions received by the system (computer) WHAT IS OUTPUT ? Data or information that has been processed

3 What is an input device ? An input device is a device that are used to input data or information into a computer. The picture shows a Logitech trackball mouse, an example of an input device.

4 EXAMPLES OF INPUT DEVICES : -
Keyboard Mouse Pointing devices Scanning devices Image capturing devices Audio-input devices Biometrics (e.g. fingerprint scanner) Medical imaging devices (e.g., X-Ray, CAT Scan, and Ultrasound images) MIDI keyboard

5 WHAT IS AN OUTPUT DEVICE ?
An output device is any peripheral devices that are used to get information out of a computer. For example, the image shows an inkjet printer, an output device that can make a hard copy of any information shown on a monitor.

7 WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN INPUT AND OUTPUT DEVICE ?
INPUT DEVICE OUTPUT DEVICE An input device can send data to another device, but it cannot receive data from another device An output device can receive data from another device, but it cannot send data to another device Examples of an input device include a computer keyboard and mouse, which can send data (input) to the computer, but they cannot receive or reproduce information (output) from the computer Examples of an output device include a computer monitor, projector, and speakers, which can receive data (output) from the computer, but they cannot send information (input) to the computer But for an input/output device, it can send data to another device and also receive data from another device. Examples of an input/output include a computer CD-RW drive and USB flash drive, which can send data (input) to a computer and also receive data (output)
