1 Class of 2016 Commencement Ceremony
Thursday, June 2, 2016 9: 00 AM

2 GENERAL GRADUATION INFORMATION
Graduation will be held at the University of Miami BankUnited Center on Thursday, June 2, 2016. Guest seating will begin at 8:00 AM.  GRADUATES must report to their assigned position by 8:00 AM. Plan for TRAFFIC and PARKING TIME! Only participating graduates will be allowed entry to the graduate assembly area, in the field house.

3 GENERAL GRADUATION INFORMATION
Graduates should CHECK IN at the Field House where there will be signs indicating where the faculty lines up and leads the graduates into the arena. Processional will begin promptly at 9:00 AM. Guests must be seated before the processional begins. LATE GUESTS will be seated AFTER the processional.

5 ATTIRE Please dress in a manner that will be consistent with the dignity of the ceremony for under the Gown. NO: Jeans, shorts, sneakers, sandals or any other garment considered to be casual Gown is WHITE!! NO phones, purses, electronic devices, water bottles, etc. ONLY THING IN HAND IS MARCH CARD. Tassels, Stoles and Chords: You can only wear one of each. ONLY people wearing chords are NHS.

6 Take all of your pictures BEFORE arriving to the venue.
CAP AND GOWN Take all of your pictures BEFORE arriving to the venue. TRY ON your cap and gown: Make sure it fits Make sure the zipper works If zipper does not work, let Ms. Menendez or Mr. Nerenberg know before or on Tuesday, May 31. Do NOT iron the gown Do NOT alter your cap in any way DO NOT THROW cap in the air at ANY TIME.

7 LINE OF MARCH CARD ONLY THING IN HAND IS MARCH CARD.
Tells you WHERE you appear in the processional and where you sit. Tells reader your name and the pronunciation. DO NOT ALTER THE CARD! Speak to someone to get permission to do so. Back of card MUST be filled out completely. Information about your photo will be sent to your home. Band/ Chorus/ Platform guests will have different Line of March Cards than the rest of the class.

8 TICKETS Each Graduate will receive 6 tickets.
5 magazines sold = 1 additional tickets. 10 magazines sold = 2 additional tickets. Tickets will be distributed at Gown Distribution in the Gym on May 27. Extra tickets: June 1 after school in room 307, leftover tickets will be given out. You MUST be present after school only to receive them. DO NOT SELL UNWANTED TICKETS. Give them out to friends or return them to activities.

9 Gown Distribution Day: Friday, May 27
In Gym, through English classes. CLEARED to graduate, will receive: Cap & gown Medallion Tassel tickets NOT CLEARED: will be able to meet with your counselor to find out why. June 1: 2nd Distribution of Gowns. During lunch in Room 307. CLEARED BUT NO GOWN PURCHASED: See Ms. Menendez or Mr. Nerenberg for a CLEARANCE FORM to take to Herff Jones and buy a gown.

10 REMINDERS Graduates should not have any cell phones or electronic devices in their pockets/gowns EAT BREAKFAST!!! SHAKE with RIGHT; DIPLOMA with LEFT Shake everyone’s hand and thank all the dignitaries and administrators on stage SMILE!!! Grad Images will be taking 3 pictures as you walk across the stage (available for purchase after the ceremony at
