Overview SMB AG Located in Munich / Germany
Established as Engineering Office 1995 Establishment SMB AG 2000 9 Employees (Architects & Developers) I myself started as an architect in an office in Munich manageing the CAD system. In 1990 i become a freelancer with a contract forconsulting in a government project. In that time in startet to build up the company. First as a status of an engeneering office. What we did was dataservice (CAD and database) and facility management consulting During the FM-consulting our customer considered a need of a special software application. It was a tool written in access to collect data for real estate cleaning by walking through the rooms of a big hospital. The name was MORADA, that means mobile space data. After that we had another contract with the bavarian government for working out the software MORADA to be used during the planning prozess to collect data from each planning office. That was the second version of MORADA, also based on MS Access. This version allready had an interface to AutoCAD. We gained more customers with that version and there was the beginning of costomizing the software. In 2001 two of our costomers planed to put in our software in a more extensive context in which the Access-version does not fit. So we made the beginnig for the third and actual generation of MORADA. The basic requirements were: capability to run on an internet server, oracle as database and no dependence on Microsoft products. (There was allways trouble with the right MS-environment. Nevertheless, now we have trouble with right java at the clients) SMB could no longer be an engeneering office because of dealing with software. So now the most of the employees are developers.
