The Fund Making Music, Making a Difference
Supported by The Kayla Marie Adsit Memorial Foundation
2
The Fund’s Mission: “The Kayla Fund” provides assistance to students in the Poudre School District who have demonstrated financial needs and who have a sincere wish to develop their musical talents.
3
Background Kayla Adsit was a wonderful, caring young woman who was tragically killed in a car accident three weeks before her high school graduation from Rocky Mountain High School. Kayla was a gifted musician who loved music, children and especially helping others in need. This foundation endeavors to carry on her legacy by helping students in the Poudre School District, who are financially disadvantaged, pursue their love of music.

The Fund’s Approach: The principals of PSD Junior High and High Schools, along with their music faculty, identify students who have demonstrated financial needs and who have a sincere interest in becoming more involved in their school’s musical groups. Music teachers identify their students’ specific music related needs. They provide the list of needs to the foundation’s board of directors for consideration. The foundation then seeks to provide for those needs. The hope of the foundation is that that assistance will allow students to then participate in school musical functions. The foundation, along with the students benefitting from it and the musical groups they belong to, participate in foundation-raisers to further the foundation’s ability to meet the growing needs of the community.
