ORG. BACKGROUND SWAZILAND POSITIVE LIVING (SWAPOL) IS A NON GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATION FORMED IN 2001 WORKING WITH RURAL COMMUNITIES.FOCUSED ON CAPACITY STRENGTHENING AND ADVOCACY FOR PLWHA,PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT FOR INFECTED AND AFFECTED WORKING WITH WOMEN,CHILDREN AND MOST MARGINALIZED POPULATION

WHY COMMUNITIES?? Community based service approaches are able to build and sustain trust which is an effective way for people to access and stay in care Community activities and services based on evidence (relate with real life experiences) Community support groups are able to mobilise fellow members towards creating more favourable environment Communities are able to identify their needs (people centred development)

PROTECTING HR FOR COMMUNITIES
HIV testing that respect confidentiality Provide appropriate information about the test and its consequences Provides linkage to care and other support services The failure to link testing to care lead to further stigma and discrimination Access to information about the benefits and availability of treatment

ACTIVITIES Treatment Literacy and Human Rights Training
Community dialogues on access to treatment TLP attached in community clinics, Use mobile phone for data collection (interviews- facilities, clients accessing treatment Document human right violations – capturing the incidence as it happens Discussions with the lead partners on confidentiality of results within the homestead seating
