3 What is critical thinking?
Critical thinking means making reasoned judgments that are logical and well- thought out. It is a way of thinking in which you don't simply accept all arguments and conclusions you are exposed to but rather have an attitude involving questioning such arguments and conclusions. It requires wanting to see what evidence is involved to support a particular argument or conclusion.

7 1 - $100 Where can alcohol be consumed?
What is the privacy of resident rooms and/or apartment (if they are of legal age)

8 1 - $200 What happens to the alcohol found in resident rooms during an incident? Resident must dispose of alcohol under housing staff supervision. Staff should not touch nor pour out the alcohol.

9 1 - $300 When should staff members transport residents to the hospital? What is never

10 1 - $400 When should alcohol and drug related incidents be documented in Advocate? Always

11 1 - $500 After you have encountered or have been informed of a resident needing medical attention due to consumption of alcohol, when should the GR, DI, or RHD on duty be contacted? What is after UGA Police is contacted?

12 2 - $100 When should you activate the pull station?
What is when fire or smoke is discovered

13 2 - $200 When is smoking permitted in the residence halls? Never

14 2 - $300 When should fire equipment be checked to ensure they are functioning properly? What is during duty rounds?

15 2 - $400 There is a list with the names of students who may need assistance evacuating the residence halls due to a permanent or temporary disability. Where is this list located? What is the 24-hour community desk?

16 2 - $500 What should be done if you notice a fire extinguisher missing? What is submit a work request

17 3 - $100 How many visitation options are there and what are they?
M-Th: 10a-2am and 24 hours visitation permitted beginning 10am Friday through Saturday ending at 2am Monday 24/7

18 3 - $200 How many nights can a visitor stay overnight?
Cannot exceed 3 consecutive nights

19 3 - $300 How many nights/semester can residents have guests stay overnight? 6 nights a semester UV:AC can extend the guests’ stay to 7 consecutive days but the request must be made a month in advance

20 3 - $400 What are the hosts responsibilities?
1. Responsible for all actions of guests 2. Resident may be found responsible if guest violates policies 3. Informing guests of university and housing policies

21 3 - $500 When should the resident escort their guests?
If they are in the residence hall-24/7

22 4 - $100 What does FERPA stand for?
Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act

23 4 - $200 Under FERPA, can we communicate with parents about what room their student lives in? No, we cannot technically confirm nor deny tha their student lives in our community—refer to RHD.

24 4 - $300 Are RAs a confidential reporter?
No—we can keep things private but not confidential. UGAPD and the health center are confidential reporters.

25 4 - $400 If UGAPD show up to your community needing to know where a resident lives, what do you do? What about if the Athens police department shows up? They are a UGA entity so you’re able to share that information. Refer Athens PD to UGAPD.

26 4 - $500 When responding to a potential sexual assault calls, what steps do you take? Show care and concern for the resident while letting them know you’re not a confidential reporter. Call UGAPD. The resident will have the option of what they want to do once PD arrives. Provide resources (CAPS, health center, potential room change depending on the situation)

27 5 - $100 What hours of the day are considered quiet hours?
Sunday-Thursday: 10pm-8am Friday-Saturday: 2am-10a

28 5 - $200 What pets are allowed on campus?
Service animals, approved comfort animals, and fish (20 gallon tank)

29 5 - $300 Considering the new campus carry law, what do you do if someone has a gun in their residence hall room? Call UGAPD—guns are not permitted in residence halls.

30 5 - $400 You get a call from a resident in your building telling you that their friend down the hall is actively cutting their wrist. What do you do? Collect information (name, room number), immediately call UGAPD while on the way to the room, call RHD/GR/DI on duty. Once the on duty person arrives, you’re released from responsibilities other than supporting the ProStaff and gathering information for the Advocate report.

31 5 - $500 What is the procedure from responding to a domestic violence situation? Call UGAPD, call RHD/DI/GR on duty Inform the resident reporting it that you’re not able to keep the information confidential Provide resources (CAPS, health center)
