Music Video Pitch
2
Synopsis For my music video I will be using the song ‘Heart out’ by The My idea has been inspired by the music video for ‘as long as you love me’ by backstreet boys. My idea is going to be a video of a director auditioning various people with different talents for an overall music video. It will start by showing the director walking in and sitting down at a table, then there will be a few shots of each candidate walking in and introducing themselves (no dialogue heard) and then as the chorus starts we see the candidates performing their talent. We then see the director call out three names and we see the winners celebrating, then we see a shot of the winners performing together as the ‘final music video’ and then as the song comes to the end we see the director collect up her papers walk towards the door, briefly turn back and turn the lights off. I have chosen to use this idea because it is fairly simple to produce and film so more time can go into editing.

Location/set design For my main location I will be using one of the college music recording studios to film for my music video as it is the most appropriate location to hold auditions. If a problem arises that I can no longer use the music studio then I will resort to using a classroom that is as empty as possible or the college theatre. No set design will really be needed apart from making sure there is no debris around the room where I will be filming to make it look as professional as possible. I will also need a table and 2 chairs for the on screen director and assistant director to sit on when on camera.

Budget Notepads for the on screen director/assistant director - £2.00 Paper numbers for the on screen candidates to wear when auditioning- £3.00 Safety pins for the candidates numbers - £3.00 Medals for the winning candidates- £1.00

Risk Assessment Some of the candidates auditioning will be doing certain activities that could bring them to harm such as dancing, cartwheels etc. so myself and others need to understand that it could possibly be dangerous and precautions need to be addressed before performances. The area around where people will be performing needs to be clear so before filming we need to check there are no hazards around such as anything glass, tripping hazards or anything wet that people can slip on.
