2 What is the purpose of the IELTS test?
IELTS is available in two modules: Academic and General Training. The IELTS Academic module is intended to assess the language ability of candidates who need to study or work where English is the language of communication. The IELTS General Training module is intended for candidates who are going to English-speaking countries for immigration purposes to Australia, Canada and New Zealand.

Candidates receive a score on the IELTS 9-Band Scale Results are available 13 days after the test date.

Some general questions on familiar topics are asked. (Home, family, work, study) PART 2 INDIVIDUAL LONG TURN ( 3-4 MINUTES ) The examiner gives the candidate a task card. The candidate is given one minute to prepare for the task. He then speaks about the task for one to two minutes. PART 3 TWO-WAY DISCUSSION ( 3-5 MINUTES ) The examiner asks further questions related to the topic of the part 2 TEST THREE PARTS
