Key Questions/Concerns
What will happen to County Housing and Community Development? All funding for CoC will continue to go to them for HMIS and Consolidated Application – C3H not asking for new funding. What will happen to Policy Council? All members will be asked to join the CoC Board (pending CoC Board approval). C3H governance will fall under CoC Board with an Executive Committee to be determined by Board.
19
Benefits of Proposed Merger
Efficiency — two organizations doing the same thing will be brought together Results — countywide collaboration will allow for a better accounting of the impact of the work = more people housed Resources — in regions where this has been done, philanthropy and other governmental sources of funds came to the table Accountability — the new organization will work to merge data and facilitate greater data participation, reporting, and sharing Representation — county agencies, local governments, business leaders, homelessness advocates, homeless people, first responders, housing providers, nonprofit providers, healthcare providers and others will have a voice where they can work together to end homelessness Clear Reporting — a representative board that includes elected officials means that all stakeholders will know what is happening and where to go when they have issues.
