The Church as the communion of saints
The Catholic church teaches that all Christians have a special bond of unity. This unity is called the communion of saints. So we can pray for other Christians (who are in the communion of saints) whether they are alive or dead. We can ask other Christians to pray for us. We can still ask them to do this when they are dead. This is called interceding, we can ask them to intercede for us. This is why Catholics pray to saints and why there are often statues of saints In catholic buildings.

A Place for saints Make a calendar of all the saints days in the year.

Calendar Each pair must design a calendar page for 1 month of the year. Every saints day that there is must be included on the calendar with a bit of information about the saint. What picture will you have at the top? What saint is there for each day? What can you find out about each saint? How will you decorate each calendar? What piece of advice will you write at the bottom of the calendar page?
