5 Red Blood Cell Function: To transport oxygen around the body.
Biconcave in shape (large surface area) No nucleus (more space for haemoglobin) Contains haemoglobin which binds to oxygen to form oxyhaemoglobin. Oxyhaemoglobin then loses it’s oxygen to body cells. Haemoglobin + oxygen oxyhaemoglobin
