Summarize – When you summarize, you briefly tell the important parts of a text in your own words. Homographs and Homophones – Homographs are words that are spelled the same but may be pronounced differently and have different meanings. Homophones are words that are pronounced the same but have different spellings and meanings. Contractions – A contraction is a word made by shortening two words and putting them together. An apostrophe is the punctuation that takes the place of a letter or letters in a contraction.
