\ Communication software is used to provide remote access to systems and exchange files and messages in text, audio and/or video formats between different computers or user IDs.

Example of communication software
CHAT ROOM -provides a venue for communities of users with a common interest to communicate in real time.  Chat rooms can be found that focus on virtually any aspect of human endeavor or interest: there are current communities based on classic movies, Irish ancestry, baton twirling, and psychic readings, for example. Various sites, such as Yahoo, provide a directory of chat sites. Others, such as MSN Web Communities, guide users through the steps required to create their own chat room.

Electronic mail, commonly called  ,   or e.mail, is a method of exchanging digital messages from an author to one or more recipients.  servers accept, forward, deliver and store messages. An message consists of three components, the message envelope, the message header, and the messagebody. The message header contains control information, including, minimally, an originator's  address and one or more recipient addresses. Usually descriptive information is also added, such as a subject header field and a message submission date/time stamp.

INSTANT MESSAGING Instant messaging (IM) is a form of real-time direct text-based communication between two or more people using personal computers or other devices, along with shared clients. The user's text is conveyed over a network, such as the Internet. More advanced instant messaging software clients also allow enhanced modes of communication, such as live voice or video calling. IM falls under the umbrella term online chat, as it is a real-time text-based networked communication system, but is distinct in that it is based on clients that facilitate connections between specified known users

BLOGS Blogs are usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video.  Most blogs are interactive, allowing visitors to leave comments and even message each other via widgets on the blogs and it is this interactivity that distinguishes them from other static websites
