4 Signing In Locate the Cisco Jabber icon on your desktop.
The first time you log in you will need to enter your and click Continue. You will then be asked to enter your username and password. This will be the same username and password you use to log in to your computer. Click Sign In.

7 Presence Status You will notice your Presence Status under your name. When you first log in the color icon will be green and your status set to available. To change your presence status, click the arrow next to your status and select one of the status options: Green for Available, Yellow for Away, or Red for Do Not Disturb. Your status will change to Away automatically when you lock your computer. If you have a meeting scheduled in Outlook your status will be changed to In a meeting.

8 Presence Status You can also create your own custom Presence Status to provide more meaningful information to other C Spacers. In the status menu, select status level you wish to present: Available, Away or or Do Not Disturb. Click the default status message to change it to a blank message. Type your custom status in the space and press enter to set.

9 Contact List Use the Search bar to find C Spacers to add to your contact list. As you type, Jabber will search our directory for matching contacts. Contacts already in your contacts list or with whom you have recently chatted with will be at the top of the list. When you locate the contact you wish to add to your list, hover over their name then click the Plus symbol to add to a Contact Group.

10 Working With Contacts Double-clicking a contact will open a Chat window. You can right-click any contact to view additional interaction options. A single contact can be in multiple contact groups in your client.

11 Chats When you start a Chat with someone, the interaction window will appear. All your chats appear as tabs within the same window. If you close the window, you will end all active chats. Within the chat you can send emoticons , change the font, size, and color , or add a 2nd participant You can also share files during a chat or send a screenshot

12 Chat Rooms Chat Rooms are persistent chats that allow you to collaborate with your teams, save conversations with them, and share screen shots and files together. New Chat Rooms can be requested by contacting

13 Meetings Your Meetings tab will display any meetings you have either scheduled or been invited to join. Jabber receives these meetings from your Outlook calendar. When a meeting starts Jabber will automatically set your presence to “In a Meeting”.

14 03 Customizing Your Jabber Example –
Sky’s customer closeness sessions, where different types of TV viewers met each other along with Sky executives, led to a breakthrough insight. Listening to Sky+ customers enthusiastically extoll its virtues to Freeview users, Sky executives came to realise the solution to converting Freeview users to Sky+ was ‘to tell, not sell’. This insight formed the basis of an advertising campaign in which famous faces, like Michael Parkinson, talked about the strengths of Sky+. The campaign helped Sky to produce its strongest Q4 net additions in five years – attracting 321,000 new customers.

15 Jabber Options To open the Jabber Options, select Jabber from the top menu bar on your computer, then choose Preferences. Select any tab along the Left side of the Options window to change the default behavior of the client.

16 General Options In General Options, you may select if you would like Jabber to start when you turn on your computer. You may also turn on spell check and select the language you would like to use.

17 Chat Options In Chats, you can set the default font style, color and size for all messages you send to others in your client. To reformat the text of incoming messages to your preferred default, check Reformat incoming messages to and select your preferred font style, color and size.

18 Status Options In Status you may select the default behavior for automatic status changes to Away. Set the timer to increase or decrease the amount of time you wish to be inactive on your computer before Jabber changes your presence status to Away. You may also select if Jabber should automatically set your status to In a Meeting based on your Outlook calendar.

19 Location The Location allows you to set locations and broadcast them so other C Spacers know where you are. You can add new locations or let Jabber suggest locations when they’re detected.

20 Sounds and Alerts Options
You may make some selections regarding when and how Jabber alerts you to chat messages. You may also choose if you would like Jabber to play an alert every time you are sent a message from someone or just the first time they send a message to start a conversation.

21 Privacy Options In Privacy, select how you wish to be notified of others requesting to view your presence status. The preferred settings are to Automatically accept requests for people within your company. Any requests outside your company will prompt you to accept or block. Click Advanced to allow or block specific people or domains.

22 04 Jabber On Mobile Devices

23 Jabber is available on iPhone and Android.
It can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or from the Apple App Store. Search for Cisco Jabber to download the app.

To change the image, delete the existing images and click on the icon in the centre of the placeholder to browse to the image you want to use. Click on OPEN to insert a new image. If the images have moved and you want to make sure they are aligned, go to Home>Slides>Reset. Jabber is available on iPhone and Android. 25 On your mobile device you can chat with your contacts.
Chats through Jabber do use your data if you are not on a wifi network. C Spacers can only send you a chat message to your mobile phone if you’re actively running the Jabber app. If you sign out on your phone and computer then you will appear as offline.
