1 OUR PLANET URANUS By Shivangi

2 THE URANUS How much gravity is present on Uranus Temperature of Uranus
Atmosphere on Uranus Where is Uranus located How did it get the name as Uranus Fun Facts Few more facts about Uranus Images of Uranus

3 HOW MUCH GRAVITY IS PRESENT ON URANUS ?
The gravity on Uranus is only 91% of the gravity on Earth. This is because it is such a large planet. A person weighing 100-pounds on Earth would weigh 91 pounds on Uranus

4 TEMPERATURE ON URANUS The temperature would vary depending on where in the atmosphere you measured it. The upper atmosphere of Uranus is the coldest in the Solar System, with the minimum temperature of 49 °K. It has a complex cloud structure with water clouds presumably being the deepest & methane clouds at the top. The minimum temperature is -224 °C (-371 °F, 49 °K)

5 ATMOSPHERE ON URANUS It is made up of 83% hydrogen, 15% helium & 2% methane, This is the atmosphere of the Uranus.

6 WHERE IS URANUS LOCATED ?
It is the 7th planet from the Sun. It is after Saturn & before Neptune.

7 HOW DID IT GET THE NAME AS URANUS
Uranus is the ancient Greek deity of the Heavens, the earliest supreme god William Herschel was going to name the planet Georgium Sidu (George's Star). But Johann Elert Bode decided to name it Uranus the Latinized version of the greek god of the sky Ouranous. He argued for it to be named after the father of Saturn. Finally it was switched from Georgium Sidus to Uranus In Greek Mythology, Uranus, or Ouranous was the god of the Sky, father of the Titans; and grandfather of the Olympian Gods.

8 FUN FACTS After Saturn,a space-craft would have to travel 1,500,000,000 kilometres to reach Uranus. This means the planet is almost twice the distance from the Sun than Saturn is Uranus orbits the Sun on its side. Its South Pole is pointed towards Earth. The angle of the tilt of the axis of Uranus is 97 degrees. This is probably due to an object the size of Earth smashing into Uranus during its formation billions of years ago.

9 FEW MORE FACTS ABOUT URANUS
Voyager 2 was the first manmade object to reach Uranus. It had previously visited Jupiter and Saturn and had taken exciting close-up images of those two planets and their moons. However, when the first pictures of Uranus from Voyager 2 were received on Earth in January 1986, scientists were disappointed to see that it was a pale blue, featureless world. Uranus' pale blue colour is caused by the methane in its atmosphere which filters out red light If we were able to see Uranus' moons orbiting the planet, they would go over and under the planet like lights on a ferris wheel.

10 HOW BIG IS URANUS ? Uranus is about 31,800 miles in diameter. That is four times the Earth's diameter, and it is 14.5 times the Earth's mass. Uranus also has 27 recognized moons, and 1 more that isn't certified yet.
