Valuable areas deal about 46,7% of the whole Voivodeship. The beautiful of Allenstein and Marienwerder we can admire in: 111 nature reserve, 8 landscape park, 71 areas saving landscapes, 43 Site of Community Importance,  Special Protection Area. In order to preserve and protect environmental value of voivodeship also was created: 111 ecological sites, 13 nature and landscape complexes, documentation site and a lot of natural monuments.

14. Forests cover 31 % of Europe’s land
  Forests cover 31 % of Europe’s land. There are a lot of complexes, mainly pine and spruce forest, in condition close to original. The biggest of them are: Purdzkie Forest, Ramudzkie Forest, Napiwodzkie Forest, Taborskie and Dzierzgonskie Forest. Besides forests, a huge part of land takes mud vegetations and peatlands. There are also many kinds of green vegetations such as: aquatic moss, Canadian pondweed,  narrowleaf plantain ,sweet flag, knapweed, briar, clover and sea buckthorn.
