Bonn Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC) – May 8-18, 2017 Forty-sixth sessions of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI 46) and Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA 46) as well as the third part of the first session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Paris Agreement (APA 1-3). More info Side-event: RegionsAdapt: Regional governments as key actors in climate change adaptation RegionsAdapt is the first global initiative for regional governments to act, cooperate, and report efforts on climate adaptation. It also includes seven working groups on key priority topics. The first report of the initiative confirms regional governments as key actors in climate adaptation. Please contact us before Feb. 24th if your Regional Government expects to attend the Conference.

2017 Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) – May – Cancun “The Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (Global Platform), as recognized by the UN General Assembly, is the main forum at the global level for strategic advice, coordination, partnership development and the review of progress in the implementation of international instruments on disaster risk reduction. It was established in 2006 and is now the world's foremost gathering of stakeholders committed to reducing disaster risk and building the resilience of communities and nations.” More info Side-event: Infrastructure resilience under growing stress from urbanization and climate change: Experiences from countries, regions and cities in Latin America This panel, jointly presented by the German cooperation GIZ, RegionsAdapt and ECLAC, will showcase the experiences of diverse sectors in South American countries, regions and cities on Disaster Risk Reduction, Adaptation to Climate Change and building of resilience in infrastructure planning.
