From: A Comparison of Selected Phonatory Behaviors of Healthy Aged and Young Adults J Speech Hear Res. 1991;34(5): doi: /jshr Legend: Measures obtained from inverse-filtered air flow and EGG waveforms. Minimum flow offset was computed as the difference between zero and minimum flow. Flow amplitude was the difference between peak flow and minimum flow. Air flow duty cycle was computed as (t1/T1) where T1 = the time between two successive negative-going crossings of the 15% baseline and t1 = the time above the 15% baseline during T1. EGG duty cycle was computed as (t2/T2) where T2 = the time between two successive negative-going crossings of the 40% baseline and t2 = the time above the 40% baseline during T2. The air flow baseline was calculated as 15% of the flow amplitude added to the minimum flow offset. The EGG baseline was calculated as 40% of the peak-to-peak amplitude subtracted from the maximum value of the Inverted EGG signal.
