WHAT IS CONSIDERED TRASH? - MULTIPLE COPIES OF PAPERWORK (KEEP 3 COPIES) - OUTDATED FORMS AND BOOKLETS OR PAMPHLETS (CHECK DATES) - PHOTOS THAT YOU CANNOT IDENTIFY EVENTS OR PEOPLE

3 What are treasurers? Chapter Histories Chapter Minutes
Chapter Newsletters Chapter Keepsakes Chapter Scrapbooks Chapter Treasurer’s Information Important Correspondence Newspaper articles Photographs with event and people labeled Other items your chapter wants to keep

4 What do we do with our trash?
Shred Recycle Keep if something you might want Return to Headquarters if unsure it is outdated

5 What do we do with our Treasures?
See the new Chapter Checklist for help President, Secretary and Treasurer should all have a copy of all minutes, agendas, treasurer’s reports, budget, chapter history to keep at the Chapter level. Older copies of the above items can be bound and sent to State Archives.

6 Chapter Checklist Starting this year the President and Executive Board should complete the Chapter Checklist. Locate all the items on the list and fill in the form. If something cannot be found then start contacting members, former members and families of any member who has died to try to locate all items on list.

7 Helpful Resources Archives Committee members
State website – look under committees for the Archives committee; and we have several useful items to help you as you complete the checklist and prepare items to go to Archives. Enlist a member to serve on your Chapter’s Archives committee.

8 Completing Chapter Histories
Ask Archives Committee members for help with completing your chapter histories See powerpoint by the Archives committee on the website See handout of website Call someone in another chapter to see how that chapter has completed their Chapter Histories.
