Checking account - An account at a bank against which checks can be drawn by the account depositor. Check – a written order to a bank to pay a stated amount to the person or business named on the face of the check. Debit Card – used to withdraw or deduct money from your checking account

What is needed to open a checking account: $50 to $100 minimum Provide personal information Name Address Phone number Social security number Account holder to sign a signature card Official signature to compare to the signature written on checks.

Deposit – money added to a checking account. Direct deposit – your paycheck directly deposited in your checking account. Deposit slip - A form the bank provides to use when making a deposit. ATM to deposit checks/cash Take photo of check (back/front) with smart phone and “deposit” directly to account

Endorsing a check Cashing a check Sign the back/write your account number on the back Do this while at the bank, otherwise, anyone can take this check and cash it. Depositing a check On the back of check sign it/write your account number/write for deposit only Or you may take a picture of the front and back of your check and “deposit” it electronically. Fill out a deposit slip.
