PROFESSIONAL TRAINING
The public perceives law enforcement as professionals. We see ourselves as professionals and trained in specific skills. Professionalism is reflected in actions and words.
9
As professionals we are responsible for our actions and advice whether it is a public presentation, recommendations in a security survey, or friendly one on one conversation.
10
Know the Codes and Laws If your recommendation conflicts with a life safety code, city ordinance, state or federal law, you are responsible. You must avoid conflicting with the codes and laws.
11
Adequate is defined as good enough for what is required or needed.
The word adequate is often used: to describe the overall security of a business or home to measure security of a specific device or procedure.

Security Surveys Identify security deficiencies and make realistic recommendations to reduce the opportunity for crime The recommendations may be divided into maximum and minimum. The minimum recommendation must be adequate to reduce the opportunity for crime to occur. The practitioner must be prepared to prove the adequacy of a recommendation in a court of law.
