Starchy vegetables include: potatoes, peas, corn, beans & squash. *15 g carb per serving Non-starchy Vegetables *15 g carb per serving Use fresh, frozen or low sodium canned vegetables. Protein Choose lean protein like: lean meat, low fat cheese, nuts, eggs, etc. *5 g carb per serving *0 g carb per serving Fats and Oils Use healthy plant oils like safflower, canola, and olive oil Avoid solid fats such as lard, shortening, and butter Limit oils to 6 teaspoons per day
