3. Urban Land Use Model
Outer Suburbs – Large modern houses, some detached, with large gardens. Lots of open space.
New Industry – New industrial estates and business parks near main roads.
Old Industry – Old area with shut down factories. Along a river, canal or railway.
Inner Suburbs – Semi-detached houses with added garages. Gardens. Some open space.
CBD – Large shops, important buildings and entertainment. Few houses.
Inner City – old terraced (joined together) houses in rows. Some small shops.
