Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP) Hereditary Non-polyposis Colon Cancer (HNPCC)

Genetic Mutants FAP is caused by mutations of the ACP gene
FAP is where hundreds of thousands of polyps form in the colon It starts in the teens and polyps turn to cancer by age 20. Another FAP form is gardner syndrome. It creates benign polyps all over the body

Genetic Mutants HNPCC, also Lynch Syndrome, is resulted from several gene mutations that help repair DNA. HNPCC starts young, but not as young as FAP Creates only a few polyps, and is seen in 3% to 5% of colon cancer patients.
