3. POLYGONS A Simple closed curve made up of only line
segments is called a polygon.

4. TYPES OF POLYGON
1.TRIANGLE
It has three sides and three vertices.

5. 2.QUADRILATERAL
It has four sides and four vertices.

6. 3.PENTAGON
It has five sides and five vertices.

7. 4.HEXAGON
It has six sides and six vertices.

8. 5.HEPTAGON
It has seven sides and seven vertices.

It has eight sides and eight vertices.

It has nine sides and nine vertices.

It has ten sides and ten vertices.

12. QUADRILATERAL Let A,B,C,D be four points in a plane that no three
of them are collinear and the line segments AB,BC,
CD and DA do not intersect except at their end
points. Then, the figure formed by these four line
segments is called quadrilateral ABCD.

1.PARALLELOGRAM
A quadrilateral with each pair of opposite sides
parallel.
