Estimate provides detailed cost and schedule for project. Bottom line:
Cost $34.6 M (without contingency) Time 39 months Comments: Estimate does not include permanent surface buildings, but seems rather complete for underground work (e.g., includes decommissioning of shafts at end of project). 300m tunnel section adds $9.1 M to cost and 9 months to schedule Sequential construction of shafts almost doubles construction time. Design may be modified to reduce cost 10-20%. (CL) Site investigation can reduce contingency (2 bore holes = contingency lowered to 25% from recommended 40%. (CL)
