Traded with: Asia Minor, Egypt, Syria & Greece
Capital city: Knossos
Royal family lived in wealth with running water, sewers and rooms—bathrooms, bedrooms etc.
Minoan decline began around 1450 B. C…… possibly due to earthquake or volcanic eruption.

15. MYCENAEAN CIVILIZATION
Moved to the Greek peninsula in 1900 B.C.
Mixed their culture with local people
Culture named after a palace at Mycenae, the richest most important city
Borrowed many parts of Minoan culture
Pottery, jewelry, decorations, writing style used by
scribes from Crete and dominated Minoan sea trade

18. Decline Warfare was frequent between kingdoms causing the decline
Mycenaean civilization collapsed about 1100 B.C.
After this...Greece slips into a “dark age” until about 800 B.C.
