11
7Go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He is going ahead of you into Galilee, there you will see Him; behold, I have told you.”
12
8And they left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy and ran to report it to His disciples.
13
9And behold, Jesus met them and greeted them

56
Jesus’ resurrection changes everything.
57
How is it that Peter, the disciple who denied even knowing Jesus now finds the courage to speak to the church about our living hope?
58
1 Peter 1:3–5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused
59
us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
60
4 to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,
61
5 who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
62
To have a living hope, 1) we must be born again through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 2) we must be confident of our future, and 3) we must believe the gospel.
63
1. We must be born again through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead (v. 3).
64
Great underscores the vastness of God’s mercy.
65
God’s great mercy is greater than the greatness of your sin.
66
Born again is a metaphor for what God does to us on the inside when He makes us His own and we give our lives to Him.
67
It means to have one’s mind changed so that he lives a new life, a life that is joyfully conformed to the will of God.
68
We cannot just wipe away our past sins with future good deeds; we can never catch up, never balance the scales. We need a new birth.
69
There are no substitutes for this birth from God.
70
Unless one is born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God. - Jesus
71
When we give up and give our lives to Jesus, we are born to a living hope.
72
Dead religions have dead founders and offer dead hope.
73
I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. -Jesus
74
The problem is not proof; it is human pride
The problem is not proof; it is human pride. The problem is not with the head; it is with the heart.
75
not on the basis of deeds which we have done…, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit – Titus 3:5
76
Living hope comes through Jesus’ resurrection when the Holy Spirit supernaturally applies Christ’s resurrection to us.
77
To have true hope, we must be raised from the deadness of our sin and born again through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
78
2. We must be confident of our future (v. 4).
79
Our inheritance: it cannot die, it will be unstained by sin, and time will never cause it to fade.
80
3. We must believe the gospel (v. 5).
81
protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time -1 Peter 1:5
82
When we give ourselves over to God, we have access to His sustaining power through faith.
83
Don’t leave today without knowing you have been born again to God’s living hope through the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ from the dead.
85
He Lives
86
I hear His voice of cheer And just the time I need Him
I serve a risen Savior He's in the world today I know that He is living Whatever men may say I see His hand of mercy I hear His voice of cheer And just the time I need Him He's always near
87
Christ Jesus lives today He walks with me And talks with me
He lives He lives Christ Jesus lives today He walks with me And talks with me Along life's narrow way Salvation to impart You ask me how I know He lives He lives within my heart
88
In all the world around me I see His loving care
And tho' my heart grows weary I never will despair I know that He is leading Thro' all the stormy blast The day of His appearing Will come at last
89
Christ Jesus lives today He walks with me And talks with me
He lives He lives Christ Jesus lives today He walks with me And talks with me Along life's narrow way Salvation to impart You ask me how I know He lives He lives within my heart
90
Rejoice rejoice O Christian Lift up your voice and sing
Eternal hallelujahs To Jesus Christ the King The hope of all who seek Him The help of all who find None other is so loving So good and kind
91
Christ Jesus lives today He walks with me And talks with me
He lives He lives Christ Jesus lives today He walks with me And talks with me Along life's narrow way Salvation to impart You ask me how I know He lives He lives within my heart
