The “Millo” or wall of Jerusalem
Pictured on February 22, 2010, a newly excavated Jerusalem site includes a wall claimed to have been built by the biblical King Solomon. The tenth-century B.C. wall is 230 feet (70 metres) long and about 6 metres (20 feet) tall. It stands along what was then the edge of Jerusalem—between the Temple Mount, and the ancient City of David, today a modern-day Arab neighborhood called Silwan.
