3 Each year equals .5 credit.
New York State Mandate in Physical Education ….All secondary pupils shall have the opportunity for regular physical education, but not less than three times per week in one semester and two times per week in the other semester, taught by a certified physical education teacher, and all such pupils shall participate in the physical education program… Two credits of physical education in order to graduate. Each year equals .5 credit.

4 Components & Grading Knowledge = 2 points Effort = 2 points Responsibility = 2 points Sportsmanship = 2 points Skill = 2 points Total = 10 points per class

Access to Attendance Daily class grading/assessment Effort, Responsibility, Skill, Sportsmanship and Knowledge Overall grade

6 ATTENDANCE POLICY Students are allowed to miss 3 classes per 10 weeks
All absences beyond the 3 classes are expected to be made up in the quarter that they were missed. Student’s responsibility to contact teacher to make up missed work. Failure to make up missed classes will result in a loss of credit Each class is worth 10 points An unexcused absence is not allowed to be made up and is a loss of 10 points.

7 PE Attire Sneakers Only Athletic Shorts T-Shirts Only Socks
Sweats/Warm-ups Hats – may be worn outside only

8 Medical Excuses All medical excuses are turned into the school nurse.
Prolonged illness (2 or more consecutive days) needs to be excused by a doctor. Student must attend class. Long Term Medical- 2 weeks or more out. Student must attend class. Athlete must participate in PE to participate in sports.

9 Locks and Locker Room All students are issued locks and lockers.
Locker Room is locked! Signs posted. Items left on bench and unlocked, are at risk of being stolen!
