Forensic science is now a full-year course! (5 academic credits)
considered college preparatory and requires commitment on the part of students in order to be successful

3. Course description Blended learning environment Mature topics
students are given responsibility for managing their time and priorities in the course, as well as opportunities to pursue advanced topics
Much of the content is presented in a “flipped lesson” style, less in- class lecture, more in-class, hands-on activity.
Mature topics
- The nature of this course requires students to have a mature attitude and to be able to handle topics that can be unsettling and disturbing

4. What will my child be studying?
Forensic science is the application of scientific knowledge, practices, and processes to criminal and civil cases.
Forensic scientists analyze evidence and report their findings to legal authorities. They also testify in court.

5. What will my child be studying?
This year, students will learn about how forensic scientists analyze evidence.
The topics to be presented are:
Crime scene management & documentation
forensic biology (fingerprints & dna)
Forensic chemistry & toxicology
Trace evidence
Anthropological evidence
Death scenes & autopsies
Impressions & other physical markings
Other common forms of evidence (ballistics, blood spatter, document analysis, paint, cyber crime)
