2 China China’s highest mountains are in the west.
The Himalayas divide China from Nepal. China has a climate that is similar to the US. In northern China it is very cold so few people live there

Huang He “Yellow River” Chang jiang Xi Jiang They all start in the highlands and flow east. . The Chang Jiang is China’s longest river at 3,400 miles. The Huang He often floods and people die it is often called the River of Sorrows.

In central northern china lies the Gobi desert. In mongolian Gobi means “waterless place”. In the summer the temps can reach 113 and in the winter it can get to -40. In Northern China the area is more sparsely populated because of the Gobi desert, farming is difficult

9 Japan Japan is an archipelago that stretches 1,500 miles
In Northern Japan winters are long and cold so they are not as densely populated 4 Main islands Hokkaido Honshu- Largest and home to Tokyo Shikoku Kyushu

Japan also is very mountainous this causes the cities to be heavily populated. The mountains limit the amount of resources available which accounts for why many Japanese people are employed in the fields of trade, service, or manufacturing. Because of location Japan has a thriving fishing industries; the coastal waters provide them with an abundance of fish.

17 Climate Climate is influenced by monsoons.
During the summer and early fall typhoons often occur. A typhoon is a hurricane that occurs in the Pacific.

19 India In the north exist the Himalayas and because of its cold climate few people live there The Himalayas contain Mt. Everest. The world’s tallest mountain. In the central and southern portions of India their climate is ideal for crops. Many people have settled along the Ganges because of the fertile soil

21 The Monsoons and India India’s climate is dominated from a seasonal wind called the Monsoon. In the winter months the wind blows from northeast which causes the climate to be hot and dry In the summer the wind changes direction and carries moisture which causes heavy rains

23 Korea North and South Korea lie on the Korean Peninsula.
North Korea is mountainous and has valleys. It’s major rivers border China (Yalu and Tumen)
