The ITU-R Study Groups develop the technical foundation for decisions taken at World Radiocommunication Conferences and develop global standards (Recommendations), Reports and Handbooks on radiocommunication matters. SG1 Spectrum Management SG3 Radiowave Propagation SG4 Satellite Services SG5 Terrestrial Services SG6 Broadcasting Service SG7 Science Services

Standardization work is carried out by the technical Study Groups in which representatives of the ITU-T membership develop Recommendations (standards) for the various fields of international telecommunications. SG2 Operational aspects SG3 Tariff and accounting principles and international telecommunication/ICT economic and policy issues SG5 Environment, climate change and circular economy SG9 Broadband cable and TV SG11 Signaling requirements, protocols, test specifications and combating counterfeit products SG12 Performance, Quality of Service and Quality of Experience

Standardization work is carried out by the technical Study Groups in which representatives of the ITU-T membership develop Recommendations (standards) for the various fields of international telecommunications. SG20 Internet of things (IoT) and smart cities and communities (SC&C) SG13 Future networks, with focus on IMT-2020, cloud computing and trusted network infrastructures SG15 Transport, Access and Home SG16 Multimedia coding, systems and applications SG17 Security in the use of ICT FOCUS GROUPS Focus Groups are an instrument created by ITU-T that augment the Study Group work programme by providing an alternative working environment for the quick development of specifications in their chosen areas. Focus Groups are now widely used to address industry needs as they emerge, and when they are not covered within an existing Study Group. 03 INTRODUCTION TO STUDY GROUPS ITU-D: ITU-D Study Groups provide an opportunity for Members to share experiences, present ideas, exchange views, and achieve consensus on appropriate strategies to address ICT priorities. ITU-D Study Groups are responsible for developing Reports, Guidelines, and Recommendations based on input received from the membership. SG1 Enabling environment for the development of telecommunications/ICTs SG2 ICT applications, cybersecurity, emergency telecommunications and climate-change adaptation
