January 19th, 2017 Learning Target: I will be able to analyze and evaluate images from the Holocaust so that I can understand what life was like for prisoners in concentration camps. Literacy Target: To expand and connect to yourself and the world _____________________________________________________________ Opener: On opener sheet what was “the Final Solution?” In your Holocaust Journal Many people heard rumors of death camps, but they were not confirmed until the Allies took over. In your journal, write a 3 sentence response to what "you" think "you" would have thought about the rumors. Use at least ONE new vocab term from this unit

Discussion—Popsicle sticks
What shocked you the most? What other scenarios in history exist in which rights were removed from people that already had them? How do you believe it is possible that humans can judge other humans’ lives? Hypothesize: What was life like for survivors of the Holocaust? What obstacles do you think they faced after liberation?
