Many people believe the Bible is all about religion, rituals, rules and Laws that we must abide by in order to please God. It has these things, but, the Bible is fundamentally a Love story about relationships. From the first book Genesis to the last book Revelation and many books in between, we read about God’s personal relationship to man.

4. Our Relationship with God
Things we need to know about God
God comes first in our lives – Deuteronomy 6:5
He loves us and wants to have a personal relationship- John 15:1-13; 1 Chronicles 22:19; Colossians 3:1-2
He loved us before we loved him – 1 John 4:10
He wants us to know Him – Psalms 10:4; Acts 17:27; 1 Chronicles 28:9; Hebrews 11:6

5. Our Relationship with Family
How to succeed as the head of family
The role of husbands – Ephesians 5:23, 25-29; John 13:1, 15:13; Timothy 3:4
The role of wives – 1 Corinthians 11:3; Ephesians 5:33; Titus 2:4-5
The role of great parents – Mark 10:13-16; Deuteronomy 6:4-8; John 13:33, 18:7-9
The role of children – Exodus 20:12; John 8:28-29; Ephesians 6:1-3; Luke 2:4-5, 51-52; Proverbs 1:8, 6:20; Colossians 3:20
We must succeed in our individual role - Colossians 3:18-21

6. Our Relationships with Christians
We are commanded to love one another
The greatest commandments – Matthew 22:36-40
We should build up one another – Romans 14:19; Thessalonians 5:11
We should be patient with one another – Ephesians 4:2; Colossians 3:13
We belong to one another – Romans 12:5 ; Ephesians 4:25

7. Our Relationship with the World
In the world but not of the world
Do not love the world – 1 John 2:15-17; John 17:11
Unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom – 1 Corinthians 6:9; 1 John 5:19; John 13:34-25; John 17:15-16
We should love non-Christians – 1 Corinthians 5:9-10; John 17:20-21
Jesus will never leave you – John 17:25-26; 1 John 1:7

8. Our Spiritual Union with God
Personal love relationship
Jesus has created the way back – John 17:4
Display it in our community– Matthew 28:18-20

9. How to Get Relationships Right
Trust and obey
Trust! – Proverbs 3:5-6 ; Psalm 91:2; Isaiah 25:9
Obey God’s will! – Matthew 7:21; Acts 2:36-41

10. “The church that convinces people that there is a God is a church that manifests what only God can do, that is, to unite human beings in love… There is nothing that convinces people that God exists or that awakens their craving for him like the discovery of Christian brothers and sisters who love one another… The sight of loving unity among Christians arrests the non-Christian. 11. God has given us the resources for this kind of unity, but it doesn’t happen automatically. We have to seek that personal relationship with Christ.
