1 Interactive Science Notebook

2 What IS it?? An interactive science notebook (ISN) is your own personalized JOURNAL of learning about science A portfolio of your work in ONE convenient spot. This is great for studying for upcoming quizzes & test A great ORGANIZATIONAL tool that gives you permission to be CREATIVE in your responses without "messing up" your notes. Allows you to be like a REAL SCIENTIST!

10 Bell Ringers: Your bell ringer will be on the front board.
It acts as a review before we start class. It should be completed within the first FIVE minutes of class! You will begin a new bell ringer sheet every Monday. Bell Ringers will be completed in the back of the notebook.

11 Open your notebook cover.
On the 1st page, write your name, 1st 9 weeks, and class period.

12 Starting with the 1st page, number the first 50 pages.
Numbers should be large in the top corner on the left and the right.

13 At the top of page 2, write:
Table of Contents Glue in one of your table of contents sheets underneath it. Do the same thing on page 3.

14 Notebook Rules No RIPPED OUT pages or torn corners
No DOODLING that doesn’t relate to science Notebook should be used for SCIENCE CLASS ONLY All entries must go into the Table of Contents - BE COLORFUL & LOVE YOUR NOTEBOOK

15 Notebook Grading Notebooks will be graded at the end of each 9 weeks and will count as a TEST GRADE

16 Notebook Grading I will collect your notebook at the end of the 9 weeks. I will evaluate the entire notebook and give a grade based on the quality, completeness, appearance, and organization. All class notes and notebook assignments should be included, even for the days you were absent, it is your responsibility to get all the information you missed.

17 Glue your notebook rubric onto page 4.

18 On page 5, glue the Class Policies sheet.

19 On page 6, glue in your article summary grading rubric.
On page 7, glue in your Science Current Event Article Summary page.

20 Go back to your table of contents page and enter in information for the 1st 7 pages that we have done today.
