Colonial Growth Objective: Essential Question:
To prepare our notebooks for Unit 1 Notes & to learn about current events. Essential Question: How has this event shaped the U.S. and the world? Standard: Students will compare lifestyles in the New England, Middle, and Southern Colonies according to race, class, and gender by utilizing one of the big 11 social studies skills.

Announcements: Collect Homework
Turn in Jigsaw & Poster. Grading policy changes: Grading is based on percentages and every assignment is not worth 100 points, rather a substantial amount per activity given the questions allotted. Academic procedures.

Warm-Up: Bellringer Question
How do you think colonists lived in the New England, Middle, and Southern Colonies? 5 minutes.

Interactive Notebooks: Setup – 30 Minutes
You will obtain 4 sheets of paper with the notes for Unit 1. These will be cut out and glued into your notebooks. During those lessons, information will be copied down from the power-point into the foldables.

CNN Student News Follow the “4 Basic Questions” class-set handout and answer them as you watch the video. Discussion to follow: How do you think the U.S. has changed from this event?
